Exterior Inspection

Ensure all entryways are secured; visually inspect for evidence of unlawful entry, theft, or vandalism
Visually inspect roofs and gutters from ground level
Check irrigation systems reflects accurate timing
Check all outside water faucets and hoses for sign of leakage
Visually inspect yard and landscaping, assuring regular maintenance is completed
Remove mail, packages, newspapers, flyers, and any other evidence of non-occupancy

Interior Inspections

Inspect for signs of vandalism, theft, damage, or other disturbances
Check security system is working and set properly
Visually inspect walls, ceilings, windows, tubs, showers for evidence of mold, mildew, leakage, or water damage: note any unusual odors
Check inside lighting timers are set according to customer preferences
Visual check hot water heater & A/C pans
Reset clocks and timers as needed; replace batteries in smoke detectors
Ensure all windows and entryways are secure
Visually inspect all HVAC serviced areas for signs of insect or pest activity
Check freezers, refrigerators, dishwashers, and disposals are in proper working order
Visually check thermostat setting for correct temperature
Check fuse box for tripped breakers or evidence of power surge
Start vehicles bi-monthly to ensure battery charges

Severe Weather

What about Severe Weather? At Seascape Home Services, LLC. we offer weekly/biweekly monitoring to work with insurance requirements and verification.

We will send out an alert if there is a Tropical Storm or Hurricane Warning for this area and you can respond to let us know you are away and need pre storm and post-storm service.

Unforeseen damage can happen at any time…especially in an unoccupied or vacant home. Such as water damage, A/C compressor stops working causing humidity, leading to mold and mildew issues that have the potential of being very costly. This is just some of the reasons a Home Watch service is valuable to a home left unattended for one or more months at a time.

Home Watch Service vs. House Sitter

Home Watch is a professional service that makes regular visitations to inspect the exterior an interior property. Looking for signs of damage and invasion or suspicious activity. This is much different from a House Sitter, who lives in your home while you are away.

Home Watch Offers:

Does not live in the home. Stops in does an inspection inside and out. Making sure everything is okay and reporting back to the owner.
Does offer the security of being licensed, insured and bonded.
Experience of knowing what to watch out for, such as water damage and rodent invasion, reporting back to you immediately with the information to allow you to resolve the matter before more damage occurs.

House Sitter:

Lives in the home using utilities and using the furniture and appliances, creating wear and tear.
Care for your pets while you are away.
Do not offer the security of being licensed and insured.
Not normally trained or watching for signs of water and rodent damage.
